Working with Low Income Clients

Low income clients face a myriad of issues that can impact the attorney-client relationship. For example, unreliable transportation and unaffordable childcare can result in missed court dates or legal appointments, while the realities of limited income can affect how a client chooses to proceed with a case. This segment discusses these issues and gives you specific tips on how to establish rapport with low income clients. Attendees will also have the opportunity to use an interactive online “poverty simulator” that shows the consequences of your financial choices when living on a limited income.
