Participants will learn how to run a law practice efficiently, economically, and ethically. Discussion will explore a wide range of topics from keeping clients happy to persuasive presentations to mastering those technological skills required to successfully operate a law firm today. Topics include client confidentiality and managing client expectations; avoiding the everyday ethical pitfalls presented whenever using technology in a law office; the basics and legal-specific features of Adobe Acrobat including metadata removal; how to electronically organize documents in a client/matter-centric manner and safely transmit those documents while guarding privacy interests; protecting a firm from catastrophic data loss; creating a technology plan to achieve long-term objectives; managing e-mail interruptions; going paperless; and much more.
