Presented by the ISBA Local Government Law Section
the ISBA Standing Committee on Government Lawyers

Every government lawyer should be familiar with the inner workings of the Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor (PAC) and the Public Access Bureau. This seminar gives you an overview of Attorney General’s Public Access duties, as well as the opportunity to learn all you need to know to properly represent clients required to comply with the Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act. Local government practitioners with basic experience who attend this seminar will better understand:

  • The role of the PAC in promoting compliance with the Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act;
  • How the PAC processes a complaint;
  • What the PAC expects from public bodies in responding to requests for review;
  • How to respond when your client receives an inquiry from PAC; and
  • Much more.
